Rensselaer County passes budget that comes with property tax decrease

If you live in Rensselaer County, you’re going to be paying less in property taxes soon.

The 2022 Rensselaer County budget passed unanimously Tuesday night.

The financial plan includes a 10% decrease in property taxes.

County officials said this is the fourth straight year the budget has included a tax decrease for homeowners.

The past four budgets have combined to decrease taxes by just about 18%.
