Ben Walsh looks forward to goals of second term as

Now that Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh will have four more years in office, the work he set out to accomplish four years ago continues.

Walsh said he has a plan for a better city and wants to get moving on it immediately.

A week before Election Day, Walsh showed Spectrum News 1 this plan he crafted, an outlook of what the next four would look like.

“One of the opportunities is to take the plan that we developed for our $123 million of federal pandemic relief funding. While we’ve gotten off to a fast start in allocating that funding, we’ve allocated a little over $40 million of it, so there’s still a vast majority of it that needs to be allocated,” he said.

Now, a week later, Walsh, who won a second term in office overwhelmingly, is ready to put that plan into action.

“I have a great sense of urgency to capitalize on this moment to go good for as many people in the city as possible,” Walsh said.

And whether it is the Interstate 81 project, housing or public safety, Walsh says “we need to come together as a community and fight back and I am so ready to do that. We are going to take care of this city and take care of our people.”

Walsh promises it will get done.
