SU to buckle down on Dome mask rules following first

Prior to SU football taking the field against the Albany Great Danes this weekend, the university has made some changes to COVID-19 protocols inside the Carrier Dome that you should be aware of.

It comes after some complaints for a lack compliance dealing with masks during the home opener.

Some of the changes include adding more signage around the inside and outside of the Dome to remind fans of the mask requirement for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Ushers will also be more diligent in enforcing rules.

The university added that any fans who experience an issue with people not following the mask guidelines are encouraged to speak with an usher, someone in guest services or text (315) 599-3663 and a staff member will come to you.

Syracuse University was monitoring more than 150 cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and the campus is currently at a red level threat with a high risk of transmission.

As of Monday afternoon, the university is monitoring 163 active cases, according to its COVID-19 dashboard.
