Friday, March 24, 8 PM at The Other Side, live from New York we have Serbian vocalist, Sofija Knezevic backed by her husband, Brit trombonist extraordinaire, Elliot Mason and a dynamite local band featuring our music director, Mike Dubaniewicz on sax, the marvelous Andrew Carroll on our acoustic piano (an instrument he loves and makes sound better than anyone else) and the dynamic duo of Mike Brigandi on bass and “Rock-Solid” Jimmy Johns on drums.
Ms. Knesevic is a serious artist, who has done her work (listen to the interview) and is a fine jazz singer. Elliot was called by Mike D. “the John Coltrane of the trombone,” and that works for me. The man has serious chops, playing regularly with Wynton Marsalis’s Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.
In short, this is shaping up to be a show you do not want to miss! Reserve your seats today by calling 315-735-4825, stopping at the Cafe Domenico or emailing us at kodomenico@verizon.net. $15/$8 for students. Be there or be SQUARE! (from Orin)
