Hamilton College department of music presents spring concerts

Clinton, NY – The Hamilton College Department of Music presents several concerts to conclude the spring semester. All events take place in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts at 7:30 pm and are free of charge.
On Friday, April 29 the Heather Buchman conducts the Hamilton College Orchestra in their final concert of the semester. The program includes Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei featuring Nicholas Adair, cello, Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1, and Arturo Márquez  Danzón No. 2.
On Tuesday, May 3, “Doc” Woods directs the Hamilton College Jazz Ensemble in a performance featuring charts for a large jazz ensemble.
On Wednesday, May 4, the Hamilton College Choir, directed by Charlotte Botha, explores the near and far reaches of North American choral landscapes, presenting selections from early psalm tunes of itinerant musicians; the music of migrants and migration; songs of belonging; and styles that stretch from of the African American South through the Ojibway in the North to Hawaiian Queen Liliʻuokalani’s compositions in the West.
As per Hamilton College’s COVID-19 policies, vaccinated visitors only may enter campus buildings, and visitors to campus must wear a face covering indoors.
