“Show Me the Money”: Oneida Nation Hosts Sports Business Roundtable

Discussion is Part of Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge Week
ONEIDA NATION HOMELANDS (August 26, 2012) Some big names in sports marketing and management gather at the Oneida Nation’s Turning Stone Resort Casino Tuesday, August 28 for a sports business roundtable discussion. The event is part of the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge professional charity golf tournament, hosted by Turning Stone’s Atunyote Golf Club Wednesday, August 29.
Panelists of the sports business roundtable include ESPN anchor Stuart Scott, sports agent Mark Steinberg, who counts Tiger Woods as a client, Matt Troka, Senior Vice President of Product and Partner Management for CDW, an official marketing partner of the PGA TOUR, Syracuse University Director of Athletics Darryl Gross, PGA TOUR pro Notah Begay III, and Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter. Golf Channel anchor Win McMurry is scheduled to moderate the roundtable.
The discussion focuses on the topic “Show Me the Money: The Changing Dynamics of Sports Sponsorship.” The expert panelists plan to discuss issues in the world of sports marketing and management including philanthropic underwriting, how sports marketing dollars are sought and allocated, and forecasts for the business of sports. They’ll also delve into creative opportunities for sponsors, teams, venues, and athletes as pressure continues to drive revenue, control costs, and deliver a win-win relationship.
Those invited to attend the roundtable, which is not open to the public, include sports marketing and management students from Central New York colleges including Syracuse University and Cazenovia College.
