For The Good, Inc. CEO Cassandra Harris-Lockwood and her German Shepherd Dog Liberty, pose with Senator Joseph Griffo and County Legislator Rose Ann Convertino at the Jay Street Community Garden. All elected officials representing the district, with the exception of the County Executive, either attended the June 15th event, sent a representative or messages to the BOCES Urban Gardeners/GED students. John Stemen representing Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, Councilman Frank Vescera and his wife Gloria, Mayor Robert Plamieri and his Chief of Staff, Jim Murphy all tasted of the pot luck dishes, cakes and or grill offerings of Lead Gardener Larry Drake of Feed Our Vets. Congressman Richard Hanna sent certificates of recognition to participants. For The Good operates three Community Gardens in the City of Utica which feeds over a thousand Uticans living in the ‘food desert.’

Another good idea that helps to revitalize the Utica area.
