MVCC: Hurricane Sandy Cancellations

As heavy weather approaches, Mohawk Valley Community College’s Utica and Rome campuses will close at 4 p.m. today. All evening classes, services, CCED programs, and activities are canceled and campus buildings will be closed. Commuter students and non-essential personnel are asked to leave campus at 4 p.m. Residential students should stay in their residence halls and avoid going outdoors or traveling city streets after 4 p.m.

 

Following is information about what you can expect this afternoon and tomorrow.

 

*  Cultural Series events and the Slush Ducks vs. Women’s Varsity basketball game scheduled for today have been canceled.

 

*  The Jorgensen Center will be converted for use as a community storm shelter by the Red Cross. It will be unavailable until further notice.

 

*  A decision regarding college operations on Tuesday, Oct. 30 will be reached by 6 a.m. tomorrow.

 

*  Additional updates, if there are any, will be communicated via www.mvcc.edu, mvcc.edu e-mail, NY Alert, and local media outlets.
