MVCC Cultural Series Events for Oct. 8-14

The following Cultural Events are scheduled for the upcoming week, Oct. 8-14, at Mohawk Valley Community College.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, Etin Anwar, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, will present the lecture “Faces of the Qur’an: Gender Hierarchy &Egalitarianism” at 11:00 a.m., in Excellus Room 225 of the Information Technology Building on the Utica campus. Anwar will bring the lecture to the Rome campus at 1p.m. in the Festine Auditorium in the Plumley Complex.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, MVCC  Professor of Psychology and Human Services James Smrtic presents “Cases in Forensic Psychology”  at 2 p.m. in  Excellus Room 225 in the Information Technology Building on the Utica campus.

On Wednesday, October 10,  “China: Globalization and Interdependence” is the subject of a lecture by Nayda Pares-Kane, Chair of Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Sociology at Monroe Community College, at 2 p.m. in Excellus Room 225 in the Information Technology Building on the Utica campus.

On Thursday, Oct. 11, violinist Olga Megedyn, will perform at 11a.m. in the Lobby of the Information Technology Building on the Utica campus.

The Cultural Series is supported in part by MVCC’s Challenge and Opportunity Major Gifts campaign (www.mvcc.edu/campaign) and by the MVCC Student Activity Fee. The series maintains a major social media presence that can be followed on Facebook at “MVCC Cultural Series.”
